Multi-Site Revolution...
Well it is official! As of October 15th, Point of Grace is going Multi-site! What this means is that we will become one church in two locations. We are launching a second campus in Ankeny, Iowa... which is about 30 minutes north of here and is a rapidly growing community. While it is a bit overwhelming and scary, it is an exciting time as Katie and I are young pastors trying to find our way, we are blessed to be gived an opportunity to be on the cutting edge of ministry. With the multi-site strategy comes a lot of learning on our part. I have been watching and gleaning from Mosaic, Life Church and Seacoast Church. They have been helpful in understanding the idea of doing chuch for students in a theatre type setting. We are taking over (in a rental sort of way) the Springwood 9 theatres in Ankeny on Sunday mornings. We are developing a catalytic team to run the same program in two different, and entirely distint locations. As the launch dates appraoches I am more and more excited about the possibility of God reaching hundreds of students through our efforts, even though we remain mostly clueless yet optimistic.
We will be implementing our "Enter and Elevate" strategy in both locations and seeing how God will use it. We are thrilled at the idea of being able to create a program that revolutionizes the lives of students in the cental Iowa region. When we launch we will be beginning out "Life 360" series, which will be a very exciting on, talking about the basics dynamics of following Christ, but wrapped up in an Xbox type theme. Should be cool.
